I am the CEO of "work to live not live to work" and a champion of "Who am I?" vs. "What do I do?"
I don't recall the first moment when I felt like I had to be in entertainment, but when I was an impressionable 4th grader, I joined chorus and then got into honor chorus with three other girls - I felt I was chosen lol. I always think that was my first imprint with music stuff. Fast forward - with the advent of major tech like Spotify I became very interested with the idea of working in music and being known as the "music guy."
I was super fortunate to join UMG in college and I spent two years doing marketing in a digital and experiential capacity for artists like 2 Chainz, Ski Mask, Alessia Cara, The 1975, Mumford & Sons and idk how many others. It was a swift crash course in the music business, and it gave me great context when I went to attack the data side of entertainment at Nielsen.
I have been fortunate to be able to see both the creative and technical sides of entertainment; I like to say I live somewhere between those two as a universal translator between both worlds. Whether working with creatives or engineers, I believe the only obstacle between doubt and destiny is action. And, I am where I am as a direct result which means learning by doing is king.
